About Us

We believe that God, God's Word and God's people will last forever, and loving each of those is what makes our community enduring.

We are an historic church which has worshipped together for over 150 years. We have a beautiful building and a priceless organ, BUT, the truest thing about us is our commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He is the pearl of great price, and he is our sustaining power.

We are a tight-knit community committed to engaging our surrounding community with the love and redemption that Jesus offers to everyone. We have an intergenerational, and even international, congregation yet we are tied together by our common love for the Lord. We believe that many of God's people do not yet know him, so we seek to extend love and hospitality to all who join us and to go out and meet others to invite in!

We preach expository sermons (book by book, verse by verse through the Bible) because we believe that God does still speak--most especially through his Word--and we want to hear what he has to say to us!

No matter where you are on your faith journey, we would love to get to know you and walk beside you!

Greg Hendrickson
Our Pastor:

Greg grew up in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts. As a young child he heard the gospel many times and, by God’s grace, he can’t remember a time when he didn’t believe in Jesus. He studied history at Yale and worked in campus ministry with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship for eight years. Greg received his M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and was a co-pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in New Haven for ten years. He has been married to his wife Jane since 2008 and they have four children. They are excited to be part of what God is doing at Talcottville!

Our Associate Pastor:

Jared grew up in Arizona and later moved to rural Utah when his parents joined a Mormon polygamous cult. There, he met his wife, Lisa, and they began their family together. While in the cult, God reached down into their darkness and brought them into His light through the writings of three dead Christians: C.S. Lewis, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, and Martin Luther. After coming to Christ, Jared felt a call to ministry and received his M.Div. at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in the Boston area. Jared and Lisa have been married since 1998, and they have 4 children. He is deeply grateful to be serving at Talcottville among people who love the Lord!

Jared Larson

Most people today have heard of Jesus, and many have read Bible stories about him. But can we trust the Bible, or have its words been changed over the last 2000 years? Can a man who lived so long ago and far away relate to us today? Luke wrote his gospel for people wrestling with questions like these. He wrote for people who lived far from Jerusalem and who hadn't grown up with the Bible. He wrote after carefully investigating the facts so that we could know the real Jesus.
Come join us, Sundays at 10:30am.
